My first glam bag from Ipsy!

I decided to join buy myself an Ipsy bag last month for my birthday, I saw a friend post what she got in December and wanted it all!
This is what came in the January bag!

Nailtini Frappe Polish- I am not a fan of nudes but I love this color, it fits my skin tone perfectly. It is a little sheer though so I have to use 4 coats, it actually isn't that much polish with 4 coats on it though because it is pretty thin. Maybe its because there is vodka in it. I did get another bottle of this already.
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil- I've used it on my scale a few times before bed since I have dandruff and it is doing a nice job, I don't know if I'd buy more but I like it so far.
Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Mini Body Butter- I love this and I will be buying more when it is gone, it is such a lovely smell and every time I wear my guy comments on how nice I smell :)
Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray- I don't use too much product in my hair, I had curly hair when I was a kid so when I curl it it keeps well even in moist weather. I am saving it for when I want big hair.
&
SOHO Concealer Brush (Crease brush & eyeliner brush where in the other bags.)- I have yet to use this also just because when I was on vacation last month I left my makeup at my my future mother in law's and had to get a few so I just bought one. I am saving this for a raining day though.
I originally signed up for it just for a birthday gift and was not planning on doing it after but I loved what I got and loved what I saw others getting before I joined so I am staying. The fact that is is only $10 really made the decision for though, I figured if there isn't anything I like in the bag I have little gifts to giveaway to family, friends and maybe even a random lady that need hair spray.
The price for this month has gone up though or not so much price but California and a few other places are making them charge tax so February's bag was 80 cents more, still not bad for what you are getting.

Another great thing about Ipsy is they what to see you use and love what you get!
You get a profile on their site that you can add your "looks" to and if you are a youtuber you can add your tutorials and reviews right to your looks.
They also have monthly challenges, all of these goodies where up for grab if you had the right looks.
UPDATED- MY PRIZE IS HERE!- UPDATED

I joined the Nailtini challenge with this picture and won,
first bag, first challenge and I an a winner!
I guess I will be getting the Nailtini 5 piece set from the picture. I am super excited about it and was so jazzed to see the "loves" my look was getting. I think my fiance was tired of hearing about it though but he was happy for when I won.
My only beef with the site and challenges is people can post any look they want and find online, it does not have to be done by you or even with the brand the challenge is for. I just think it takes away some fun of seeing what other can and are doing.
Anyway, The February boxes are almost ready and will be shipping out soon if they have not started already!
I can't wait for this coming month's bag, everything looks so neat!

Julep February 2013 Maven Box & Glequins Nails

Julep February 2013 Maven Box & Glequins Nail Tutorial
My Julep box has come and I am so happy with all I got!
There was even a little surprise in a gold bag. to go with the Red Carpet A-List theme.
Oxygen Nail Treatment, Freedom Top Coat, Helen & Claudette.
An added gift that no one knew about is an eyelash curler & two chocolate hearts!
I like the size of the curler and although I only played with it I think it will replace my big old school one.
I love the box for the Oxygen Treatment with O2 all over the side.
And the inside of the Freedom Top Coat has Julep Logo inside!
Last month they introduced there "Swatch Me" stickers and I thought it was a little cheesy, I like nice clean bottles. The polish this month came with the stickers on top so I swatched them and I actually like it. Now I want to get more stickers to do the rest.
The Classic with a twist colors from this month. I was hoping for Valentine's day colors and thankfully my box came with. I had tried a few other styles other then what Julep suggested for me and was not as happy with the as I am with Classic with a twist so even if I think I will not like it I am only going to get Classic.
As you can see I started to do my nails, scroll down to see how I did it.
You will need Claudette and Helen, glitter pots with small or med sequins, dotting tool/tooth pick/or just anything to pick up the sequin, a top coat and your Freedom Top Coat and a piece of tape or something you can put a top of top coat on.
First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Trim your nails and push back your cuticles but don't cut them. Do not use lotions or oils on your hands before you start, it may make the dry time longer.
I started my nails already so after your nails are clean apply a coat or two of your polish. I have Claudette on all but my ring finger where I put Helen.
Open your glitter pots, I find it easier to use the glitter from the lid. It is flat and easier to just pick up one.
If you are trying to add a little to you lid try not to spill the whole pot on your desk like I did.
Drop a small amount of polish on a wrapper or tape. I usually use a piece of tape but just use the wrapper for the eyelash curler that came in my box.
Lightly coat the nail you are working on with a top coat, try to use one that does not dry fast.
Pick up a very small amount of the top coat with your dotting tool, you will be using it to pick you the sequins.
Lightly tap the top of a sequin to pick it up, with the top coat at the end it should be easy to pick up.
 Ready to go!
Put the first in the middle.
Using another color make a circle around the center.
And with a third color circle around the last color.
Finally, finish off with a last circle with the center color you started with.
Depending on your nail size you make need to do another circle.
In the light you can see a kind of spiral effect due to the circles and different colors used.
Apply your Freedom Top Coat and you are done!
This is my first time using Julep's Freedom Top Coat and I am in love with it, it is so nice. I tested it on polish with no sequins and it is like using gel! I didn't think it was going to be this good, I am differently going to now only use this top coat. I also love how fast it dried, I can not do last minute nails just before leaving my house like I always do with out having it smudge!
I love the February box, this is the only box so far that I already have plans to buy more of. I am hoping the top coat will be in this months secret store!

I have add-ons for this box that were just shipped, their new Holo polish. I can't wait to try those!

Let me know what style you are!

My first Goodies Co. Box

So, this was the first subscription box I saw for food and being a kinda foodie I tried to sign up but ended up joining a wait list since they are in beta and am slowly having people join.
I was very excited to see a invite to get a box last month after a few months on the wait list and although I was on vacation I quickly stopped what I was doing and signed up! A few days later I saw there was a payment taken out for them and got extra excited, I was hoping the box would be delivered just in time for me to come home!
A week later I was home and still nothing on the box so I checked my account and saw that they start shipping on the second Friday of the month. They stated that they would shipped over the next ten days from that Friday but on the 11 day I was emailed the tracking.
Here is all that I got in the New Year, New You Healthy Snack box.
Cascal - This is a natural soda, it had pineapple so sadly I could not try. My fiance said it was lovely though. There are other favors so I may try another if I see it at a store.
Wild Garden Traditional Hummus and Pita Chips - I love hummus and this was not bad, it's no homemade with fresh pita bread but I thought it was good. I did not like the pita chips that came with though so I used the Falafel chips with. I would have loved to have this as a kid.
Go Nola - I have large bags of granola all over my kitchen so I was excited to try this, I had it with some yogurt for breakfast and it was pretty yummy. If I see it at a store I think I will get more.
Flamous Brands Falafel Chips - These were my favorite of the box. They had a pretty good favor and paired with the hummus it was a very nice snack. There were about 3 servings in the bag for me having it as a side for lunch and 2 snacks. Adding a little cayenne pepper and garlic with the hummus would make a great mid-day meal, I would get this again.
Skeeter Snacks Cookie - There were two cookies in the pack, it was very high in calories though for just one cookie so I only tasted it. It was very good but far from a healthy snack. I would not get these just because I have a sweet tooth and I would easily eat a few and have it be as many calories as one average meal. Had I eaten both it would have been 340 calories and a slice of my homemade cheesecake is about 250, I'll take the cheesecake and the lower calories.
Stretch Island Fruit Chews - These are no sugar added, made with only fruit snacks. I have a dehydrator and make fruit peels with it so these were prefect for me. These are a great alternative to making fresh if you want to save some time.
Nature's Bakery While Wheat Fig Bar - I was very excite to see these but sadly although blueberry there was that dreaded pineapple again. My fiance loved these and asked if I had more! I would get these again because he did enjoy them.
Overall this box was alright but with the price of $7.00 a month it is great. I am going to give it another shot next month, if I get more food that I am allergic to I will have to cancel the box because it will be a waste of food and money. If my guy likes to try the food with me though I may just stick with it and share it with him. Visit https://www.goodies.co/ to sign up for your own.

And an added bonus we have the lovely Rose Gold Glitter Polish Jane named after the CEO herself!
And if that wasn't enough we will be receiving the new
Oxygen Nail Treatment and Freedom Top Coat!
And the lovely ladies behind the names.
Ginger, a sand holographic, was inspired by the lovely Ginger Rogers. Ginger Rogers won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Kitty Foyle (1941) and won the heart and boosted the spirits across America during the Great Depression.
Julianne, a smoky grey blue creme, was named after the actress who never fails to stun with her ever-so timeless look: Julianne Moore. Julianne was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress- Miniseries or Television Film in Game Change (2012). Not known to many, Julianne is the author of two children’s books inspired by her own childhood. She’s such an inspiring, talented and poised woman.
Joan, a raspberry plum with rose gold shimmer, was inspired by the intriguing and quite mysterious persona of Joan Crawford. Joan won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Mildred Pierce (1946). Many myths about Joan continue to re-surface throughout the years, yet one fact remains unarguable- Joan’s trendsetting wardrobe established her as a timeless fashion icon.
Marion, a smoky blue with silver shimmer, was named in honor of the beautiful Marion Cottillard. Marion Cottilard was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress- Motion Picture Drama in Rust and Bone (2012). She was the first person to win an Oscar for a performance in French!
Sally, an antique ivory creme, was named in an effort to recognize all the tremendous roles played by the very talented Sally Field. Sally was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in Lincoln (2012). Producer, actress, mother, and wife- Sally truly does it all. Plus she’s funny! Did you know she was named “Class Clown” in high school?
Laura, an olive khaki creme, was inspired by the actress who’s done it all: Laura Dern. Laura most recently won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress- Television Series Musical or Comedy in Enlightened (TV Show, 2011-present). Born into a family of all very successful actors, her parents initially discouraged her from pursuing a career in acting. Not taking no for an answer, Laura has easily tackled some of Hollywood’s toughest roles making her one of the screen’s most interesting modern actresses.
Ingrid, a burnt orange creme, was named after Ingrid Bergman who won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Gaslight (1945). Ingrid was easily one of the screen’s most talented actresses of her time. She performed in over 50 films and acted in five different languages: Swedish, English, German, French and Italian.
Helen, a smoky pastel lavender creme, was named in honor of the stunning and extremely talented Helen Hunt. Helen was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in The Sessions (2012). The notable American actress, screenwriter, and director actually studied ballet and attended UCLA for college!
Rebel, a silver holographic, was the perfect name to give one of our very first unique holographic polish shades. What better person to name it after than the hilarious and rambunctious Australian actress, Rebel Wilson! Rebel was most recently nominated by the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards for Best Actress in Comedy in Pitch Perfect (2012). Rebel claims that she decided to pursue an acting career “after she contracted malaria in South Africa and experienced hallucinations in which she saw herself as an actress who had won an Oscar.” Who would have thought?!
Claudette, a smoky brick red creme, was inspired by the stunning Claudette Colbert. Claudette won an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in It Happened One Night (1935). Claudette began her acting career while studying fashion design when she landed her first role in Broadway. She progressed into acting on screen for the next 20 years and eventually returned to her true love of acting on stage towards the end of her career.
