July Ipsy Glam Bag Review!

My Ipsy bag has come and I love it!
I think this is my favorite bag that they have had since I joined.
There are a few things that I don't love but I think the bag is making me over look them, it is just so cute.
I love all things that exfoliates so when I saw this in a sneak peek on their facebook page I was instantly in love and crossing my fingers I would get it. I have use it once and it is love!
I am taking full advantage of the discount offered and already have an order in place with them.
I have yet to use this but I live in Arizona and will be driving to California in less then 2 weeks to drop my sister off who came to saty with me thing summer. I am going to pop it in my purse and take it with!
I was so very excited about the Benefit Tint Gloss that was in the sneak peek and was hoping I would get it but sadly when I looked in my glam room and saw that I would be getting this and not the gloss. I was then hoping for the Coral Crush that was listed on the products page on Ipsy. I was so very very happy when I saw it in my bag. This is my favorite item from this month and I'm not even a fan of Pop Beauty!
I would have never bought this so thank you Ipsy for putting this in my bag!
You can find this look on Ipsy here, like it to help me win this month challenge!
I have received a few big sexy hair things since I have joined and I am too excited about em. I gave away one, never used another but I did give it a try since the humidity was about 40% last week.
Thanks to my pa I get a bit of a fro in such weather and as you can see by this bad cell phone picture this stuff works! I might actually by more of this if I see it at Target.

I was very excited for this and I had read a few good reviews and other blogs.
I was hoping for matte colors but a few shimmery ones came with purple.
Since I did just dye my hair pink and purple I wasn't bummed to see it.
I have Malibu in the corner of my eye and San Fran starting in the middle on the upper and lower lashline into the crease of my eye and Hollywood in my crease going to my brow. Malibu is the only shining star in this trio.

Pretty In Plum by Nicole by OPI was an extra goodie from their referral program that just started.
I just did my nails so I will play with this in a few days.
These are the other goodies from the glam room that were not in my bag but others got.
They gave out more Nailtini polish.
They have contests with the items in the bags so I wanted in on the Nailtini one and did this!
I had won the first contest I was in from the first month I joined so with "Bordeaux" from the nail cocktail collection I won I did this! The inspiration for this look is from my inspired by water look here.

Try this to help you orgianize your nail art tape!

If you are like me to have a ton of nail art goodies and countless rolls of nail art tape.
I have them all packed away in draws but I have a few floating around that I use here and there. While using them I always end up putting the new and then used tape on the caps of my polish. I just cleaned off the tops of my polish bottles last week, I had tape on about 15 of them! I am now happy to say that that bad happy is done because a few weeks ago thanks for Lace and Lacquer for sharing a post on facebook of something she saw I make this!
Here is how I make this awesome thing!
You don't have to add the bit of tape but I thought it would be cute and it matches the pink and white theme of my office.
I put one of each color I had.
Let me know if you give it a try!

New Polish- Tip Top Nails!

I received some polish from Tip Top Nails South Africa just before my move to Arizona in April. They had messaged me on my fan page on Facebook a few weeks before my move and asked if I would like to try out their polish... I never turn down trying new polish!
A few weeks after the message I had a small box by my door from South Africa :) As soon as I brought the box in I could smell that something was not right though. Sadly, I was right, one of the bottles did not make it.
It looked like such a lovely silver too.  I really didn't have time to play with the other colors other than to do a swatch. I just finished unpacking my office last week and my Tip Top nail polish was in the last box! I cleaned off my nails and did my favorite manicure, dots with dots.
You can find my tutorial for  it here.
The blue is Astronaut, red is Pot-O-Berries and the pink (my favorite from the bunch) is Beauty and the Beach which was a duo with micro beads. They all have a very good coverage and the colors are great. The smell is a bit strong for me because I am pets but I really do love the polish other than that.
It is 4 free as the back of the bottle says and has vitamin e which is lovely.
It seems to be long lasting also, I had it on my nails for 5 days before a chip with a Rimmel top coat... that is a very long time for me since I work with my hands.
Over all, I dig it.

You can find more information on their site here- http://www.tiptopnails.co.za
And! you can shop here for the polish here- http://www.zando.co.za
And again their facebook is here- https://www.facebook.com/TipTopNailsSouthAfrica
Stop by their page and tell em I sent ya ;)

Have you tried Tip Top?
If so, how do you like it?

Nails of the day- Inspired by Water!

I bought all these goodies during Julep's online warehouse sale last month so I have a ton of new colors to play with!
I really wanted to try the "Rock Candy Nail Glaze" that was exclusive to Sephora for a few months and was very excited that I was able to get it in the warehouse sale for about 80% off!
For these nails I used Angelica that I am holding in pictures :)
Inspired by the lovely bottom left picture of fish shadow sculpture.
I was thinking of doing a tutorial using Coral from the set. Feel free to leave a comment below if you would like to see a tutorial for this design, with or without fish.

Let me know what you think :)

Julep July 2013 Review!

I got my box a little over a week ago but am just getting around to post about it... been too busy to play with my new goodies since I had friends and family over to the 4th.

Anyway, my Julep box came with a few surprises this month. The first being that my add on was in the box! I always thought it was a waste to break up an order for the packing materials and for the cost of shipping that may be eating away at a could be price drop/discount! A free goodie (which Julep is known to add in a box here and there) blotting papers, these came just in time for my road trip from Arizona to California to pick up my kid sister... 12 hours in a car while it was 119 degrees, I had some blotting to do.
The last surprise was how cute the boxes were! I saw on there facebook page that someone had made bookmarks with them. I have a few cute frame that I am going to put these in and hang it by my computer:)
I got the Modern Beauty box this month so I didn't get a polish in the box, I did get this beauty "Blakely" as my add on though. When I want both products I get the box with both and get the polish as an add on, it ends up saving me a few bucks for or Jules getting the products as a bundle.
I only used one coat of Blakely here, I was happy with the coverage. I added gold foil to the tips, you can see how I apply the foil here.
This is why I went with Modern Beauty... as soon as I saw this I had to try it! after using it a few times I don't know how I feel about it though. I tried it on dry hair and it was a no go, I tried it on towel dried hair and again no luck but then I tried with really wet hair and it worked! It seems for me I have to just brush my hair and spray it with nothing else in my hair and while wet. I was happy with how it looked and smelled but it does give your hair the feel of being at the beach. I'll play with it more and post pictures later, I need to play with it more.
Ah, the beach tonic. I was not crazy excited about it although I did want to try it. I sprayed it and I was very surprised at how much I liked it and how great a product it was. It was not oily after you rub it in, the scent is so light and lovely and it made my skin feel very nice.  My fiance likes the smell of it too, it is always nice to have the person always by you like the way you smell. He is not a fan of it n him though. I have already used a good chunk of the stuff, I love it and will be getting more of the stuff.
Here is a better picture of the boxes, too cute!
The freebie of the box that isn't even a sample size! I always love the freebies they add. I do hope that I see these is their shop soon, they are always handy to have on hand. I also getting married soon so these would be nice to add to my bridal emergence kit.
Best thing about this box is I used my Jules so it didn't cost me anything this month!

If you got the box what colors did you get? What was your favorite thing in it?
I'd have to say I like the Toxic the best.

4th of July Nails!

Getting ready for the 4th!

 The goodies you will need.
Nail art tape.
Polishes-
Base (by Julep)
 Red (Jackie by Julep)
White (French White Creme by Wet n' Wild)
 Blue (Ally By Julep)
Glitter (America by Julep)
Red Nail Art (Be my Valentine by SinfulColors)
Top coat (Freedom)
Star stickers (bought at Target)
Red, clear or white and blue crystals (store in LA)
Dotting tool (Etsy)
When getting the star stickers make sure they fit you nail beds so you dont have to cut too much off.
After you apply your base apply white to you index and middle fingers, red to your thumb and blue to you ring finger.
Apple blue to 1/4 of your nail. You want the base of you nail to stay white for you stripes of the flag.
You can use tape to help keep the lines clean and to make this look neater.. or if you just need the help :)
Using your nail art red polish starting under the blue make your first red stripe.
Continue making stripes and made a few to your middle finger also.
When you are done with your stripes apply a few dots with your dotting tool to the blue on your index fingers for the stars of the flag. I like to put my polish I will be dipping in on a piece of tape for easy clean up.
Done, done and done! What a lovely flag you have!
Get your crystals ready and apply a small amount of clear polish on your tape.
Apply a small dot where each crystal is going to on nail with the clear polish and then apple the crystals.
The stars a pretty easy, just pick up and place.
I was going to only apply one but since my nails are pretty long right now I decided I wanted two!
If you have some hangover like I have here, don't worry just cut the extra off.
 All better!
Apply your glitter starting at the base of your thumb. Try to keep the bigger chucks near your base so it looks like it is fading.
Apply your top coat and you are done!

If you like this look check out my other patriotic nails from earlier this month!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy 4th or Canada Day if you are near but not here!
