Wooden Mint Painted Button Bracelet Tutorial

Wooden Mint Painted Button Bracelet Tutorial
What you will need: buttons, spacers, cord, crimps, clasp, jump ring, paint or polish, & pliers.
I used 4 buttons and 2 spacers but depending on the size of your goodies you may need more or less.
If you have boring buttons like mine apply 1-2 coats of paint or polish. I went with polish over paint because I liked the colors better... The wood soaked up the polish though so I needed extra coats.
 Apply and let dry.
Paint spacers if needed and let them dry.
Cut your cord double the length the bracelet should be.
Fold the cord over but don't cut, it's less trouble leaving it as it.
Add the clasp on the loop end.
Crimp the end tightly on the loop end.
With the two open ends thread the first button on the half of the button going under the holes.
Cross the cord in the top holes.
You want to make sure the cord is even. If it is like this adjust the cord on the buttons until they are even.
The design is up to you so place the beads were you want.
My order was button, spacer, button, button, spacer, button.
When you are done and everything is even crimp the other end on.

Done and done, enjoy your bracelet!

Pin it if you like it!

Paint Splatter & Neon Star Nail Tutorial

Here's what you'll need: A top coat (I use Rimmel Base and Top Coat), feature colors for your dots (I have 6), a white.ish base color, star color, nail stamping kit.

First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Trim your nails and push back your cuticles but don't cut them. Do not use lotions or oils on your hands before you start, it may make the dry time longer.
 Pretty :)
Start with a white.ish color as your base to help make the colors you are about to apply pop!
Add a few dots of color around the nail, place them anywhere.
Add more dots, don't worry about overlapping colors.
Go crazy and add a ton of dots of different color, make sure that your
dots cover all of your base color.
You can apply a top coat and stop here if you'd like, I thought it looked pretty cool.
To continue with the stars take out your stamping kit.
SE22 Salon Express is the disk I used, you can pick it up at Target or online.
Apply your star color to the disk, swipe with the scraper over the polish
then pick it up with the stamper.
Apply the polish on the stamp to your nail.
Apply a coat or two of your top coat and you are done!

How to make a bridal inspired ribbon pearl bracelet.

I am recently engaged and have been thinking about what kind of jewelry I would like to wear on my wedding. I love pearls and ribbon so this is what I came up with for my first test drive. If I do decide to go with this looks I will do a light green (to go with our colors) and give the rest to my wedding party so we all match.
What you will need.
Ribbon, beads, jump rings, clasp, caps, fishing line or beading thread, scissors, pencil, adhesive, needle and measuring tape.

You may need to make adjustments depending on the size of beads you are using.
I used caps and added chain to my bracelets but you can just use the ribbon it you like.
1. With your pencil, mark every inch with a dot on the ribbon.
2. Thread your needle with wire.
3. Tie a knot around a jump ring with the wire.
4. Thread on the cap charm.
5. Start threading the ribbon after the cap is in place, add some adhesive to the ribbon and cap so they stick.
6. Start treading on the beads and dots on the ribbon, wrap the ribbon around the front and back of every other bead as pictured above. You can add a little adhesive on the sides of the beads
7. Place cap on the end with some adhesive.
8. Tie a knot around another jump ring.
9. Trim the wire and any extra ribbon that the cap isn't hiding.
10. Connect as many jump rings to one side and the clasp on the other until you are happy with the size of the bracelet & you are done!

Check out my "we're engaged" post to see a better picture of our ring!

Thanks for viewing, hope you enjoyed!
If your engaged too, I'd love to hear about it.
I am just starting off and I do not know where to go!

My Favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe

Makes about 2 dozen
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. coarse sea salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cups brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. sugar, for topping
1 tsp. cinnamon, for topping
adding cinnamon to any cookie makes it better!
butterscotch chips, optional

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, followed by vanilla extract. Gradually blend in the flour mixture until dough comes together and no streaks of dry ingredients remain.

Place sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar before placing on baking sheet. Allow about 2 inches between cookies to allow for spread.

Bake for 11-14 minutes, until cookies are set and very lightly browned around the edges.

Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 3-4 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.  While still one the baking sheet you can press a butterscotch chip in the center of each cookie.

You can use a chocolate chip if you want but my fiance likes butterscotch :)

Enjoy!

DIY Easy French Tip

It is very rare for me to not chip my nails or snag then while I am working on something. Since my nails have been playing nice with me I thought I'd let them shine as is with just a touch of color!

Here's what you'll need: A top coat (I use Rimmel Base and Top Coat), feature color for your line, a base color and a tooth pick if you don't have nail art polish. I used my top cot as my base since my nails have been looking extra fresh lately, I didn't want to cover them up!

First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Trim your nails and push back your cuticles but don't cut them. Do not use lotions or oils on your hands before you start, it may make the dry time longer.

 What I used.
Start by apply yous base coat.
After your nails are completely dry get your nail art polish.
Apply one or two coats along the whites of your nails where is grows out...
or where every you want you line to be :)
Apply a top coat or two and you are all done!
 Pretty!

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed!

DIY Hidden Neon Striped Nails.

Here's what you'll need: A top coat (I use Rimmel Base and Top Coat), feature colors for your base/stripes, a dark top color, and nail tape. If you don't have nail tape you can just cut thin pieces of any tape but for cleaner lines I would suggest getting some.
First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Trim your nails and push back your cuticles but don't cut them. Do not use lotions or oils on your hands before you start, it may make the dry time longer.
Apply one or two coats of the base color.
You can go with one color or a different color on each like I did.
Add your nail tape after the base is completely dry.
Press the tape down then apply the darker color.
When the top coat is completely dry remove the tape starting
with the last piece first if they lay on top of each other.
Add your top coat and you are done!
